It’s something that pretty much everyone knew after it happened.
Le’Veon Bell made a big mistake after holding out and not playing for the Steelers in 2018.
The next year he signed with the New York Jets and his career was never the same.
The three-time Pro Bolwer and two-time All Pro apologized to Steelers fans.
“I wanna say I apologize leaving the best damn fans there is in this damn world,” said Bell. “I shouldn’t have left.”
During an interview in May, in addition to admitting he spoked marijuana before every game, he said the main disagreement with the Steelers was the guaranteed money.
He also admitted in May he should’ve just signed the deal the Steelers offered.
It was reportedly a five-year deal worth $70 million to say the Steelers running back.
Bell signed a $52 million, four-year deal with the Jets. That came with $27 million guaranteed.
With the help of the Steelers offensive line, Bell had his best years in Pittsburgh, with 5,336 yards on 1,229 carries over five seasons with 35 touchdowns.
He was also a receiving threat with 3,289 catching yards with nine touchdowns.
It’s hard not think how the Steelers would’ve been in 2018 had Bell not held out and stayed with the organization.
