Hockey can be a dazzling game to watch. It features speed, skill, physicality and fearlessness.

Also, sometimes it features two grown men staring at each from opposite sides of the rink in a showdown to see who will cave and leave the ice first.

See, Bruins winger Brad Marchand likes to be the last player to leave the ice after pregame warmups, from either team. Rangers center Mika Zibanejad either has the same superstition or decided Friday night was a good time to mess with Marchand's.

So, when warmups ended Friday night, the standoff began. Zibanejad waited at his exit, and Marchand at his. For seven minutes.

Marchand did some stretching. Zibanejad taped his stick at one point. The Zamboni came out and cleaned the ice. And yet neither budged.

Cue Ennio Morricone's "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" theme. No, seriously, props to the Madison Square Garden PA, because that's exactly what they did.

So, how does such a showdown end? With a game of rock-paper-scissors of course. And the victory goes to... Zibanejad.
