Mark Ingram could be replacement for Reggie Bush on Fox pregame show: report

One former Saints running back could be in line to replace another on a prominent TV post.

With Reggie Bush expected to be out of Fox's Big Noon Kickoff program due to contract issues, Mark Ingram is being eyed as a potential replacement, according to a report from the New York Post.

The jump to broadcasting would make sense for Ingram, who has already dipped his toes in the sports analysis pool and has hosted a podcast, Truss Levelz, with fellow media-savvy Saints player Cam Jordan the past several seasons.

Ingram, the Saints career leader in rushing yards and rushing touchdowns, has not officially retired from the NFL, but he his name has not emerged as a veteran RB candidate for any teams since his season ended due to a knee injury in a Week 13 loss to the Bucs. He also appears to be getting more vocal in his takes, going on record Thursday about the NFL's rough landscape for running backs after Dalvin Cook's projected release from the Vikings despite four consecutive 1,000 yard seasons.

If the transition from Bush to Ingram did happen, it'd feature an interesting set of parallels. Both players were star running backs in college and went on to win the Heisman trophy, though Bush's was taken away due to NCAA infractions stemming from his time at USC. Ingram earned his Heisman before being selected in the first round by the Saints in 2011. Bush was a first round selection of the Saints (No. 2 overall) in 2006.

The Big Noon Kickoff program is currently hosted by Rob Stone, and also features Urban Meyer, Brady Quinn and Matt Leinart.
