Yet another twist has emerged in the Michael Thomas offseason saga.
The New Orleans Saints wide receiver has filed a lawsuit against the landlord of his Los Angeles area home he rented earlier this year for more than $1 million in damages, according to TMZ Sports, which obtained the court documents.
Thomas is suing the landlord for breach of lease and more, claiming he never received his $60,000 security deposit back after he moved out in April.
He also claims that there were several issues with the Bel-Air mansion, including issues with the pool, garage door and house, but perhaps most notably he alleges that reps for the place “repeatedly” showed up to the house unannounced despite being told by the owner he would be left alone.
The 28-year-old All-Pro says that these unannounced visits disrupted his offseason training in the months he lived in the house, which was from February to April.

Thomas was attempting to rehab an ankle injury at this time, but ultimately underwent surgery for it in June — which has become a point of contention between him and the Saints, who recommended he have the surgery earlier.
The Saints claim that they could not get in touch with Thomas during this time, either, in order to check in on the status of his injured ankle.
Because of Thomas’ decision to rehab his ankle and delay the surgery, he is expected to miss the first few weeks of the 2021 season.
Whether or not the drama with his LA landlord indeed impacted his ability to rehab without surgery is certainly debatable, but it certainly adds another wrinkle in what has been a turbulent offseason for the Saints star.
