Pierre Brooks seemed destined for big things at Michigan State, a Detroit native who arrived in East Lansing as a four-star recruit in 2021.
Two years later he's leaving.
After playing sparingly in two seasons for the Spartans, Brooks announced Wednesday that he's entering the transfer portal and "starting a new journey."
"Spartan Nation, I am thankful for everything that you guys have done and all of the support that you have given me these past 2 years," Brooks said via Tipton Edits. "I want to also thank Coash Izzo for taking a chance on me and giving me the opportunity to play for this amazing university.
"With all this being said, it is time for me to start a new chapter of my career. I will be entering my name in the transfer portal and starting a new journey."
A top-five recruit in the state of Michigan in 2021, Brooks came off the bench in all but five games this season, averaging 3.6 points in about 14 minutes per night.
