EAST LANSING, Mich. – The Big Ten Conference announced five additional game times for the 2023 Michigan State football season on Wednesday afternoon.
MSU's season opener on Friday, Sept. 1 vs. Central Michigan in Spartan Stadium will start at 7 p.m. (date previously announced). The game will be televised on FS1. This marks the ninth time in the past 13 years that Michigan State will open with a Friday night game in East Lansing; it's also the 11th time since 2011 that MSU will begin the season on a Friday night.
In Week 2, the Spartans will host Richmond at 3:30 p.m. on Sept. 9 in the first-ever meeting between the two schools. The game will be televised on the Big Ten Network.
Michigan State will host Washington on Sept. 16 at 5 p.m. and the game will be streamed exclusively on Peacock. Peacock is NBCUniversal's direct-to-consumer streaming service and will deliver exclusive Big Ten football games each season. For more information, please visit peacocktv.com.
MSU's Homecoming game vs. Maryland on Sept. 23 will begin at 3:30 p.m. (TV network announced at a later date).
The Oct. 14 game at Rutgers in Piscataway, New Jersey, will kick off at noon.
Michigan State's game times at Ohio State (Saturday, Nov. 11; 7:30 p.m. on NBC) and against Penn State (Friday, Nov. 24; 7:30 p.m. on NBC at Ford Field in Detroit) were previously announced. Those games will also be simul-streamed on Peacock in addition to the NBC broadcast.
