A day after Michigan State lost one star receiver to the NFL Draft, another announced he's returning.
Jayden Reed will be back in East Lansing in 2022.
"Since I was a child I've been dreaming of playing in the NFL and I am one step closer to my goal," Reed said Tuesday via Twitter. "After long talks with God, my family, coaches and friends, I've come to a final decision to return to Michigan State and use my last year of eligibility. We have unfinished business to take care of.
"See you in 2022!"
Reed helped the Spartans to an 11-2 record and a win in the Peach Bowl with 59 catches for 1,026 yards and 10 touchdowns, all team highs. He was also a first-team All-Big Ten all-purpose player after piling up over 600 yards on kick and punt returns.
Reed's decision to stay came a day after fellow receiver Jalen Nailor announced he's declaring for the 2022 NFL Draft.
Nailor had 37 catches for 695 yards and six touchdowns. His 18.8 yards per catch ranked second in the Big Ten.
In a Twitter post Monday, Nailor thanked former MSU coach Mark Dantonio "for bringing in a kid from Cali' to play in a big time program" and head coach Mel Tucker and wide receivers coach Courtney Hawkins "for developing me as a player on and off the field to be the best man I can be."
