Monday brought some great news for Tom Izzo's Spartans.
Michigan State's leading scorer and starting point guard Tyson Walker will be back for "one more" season in East Lansing, he announced via Twitter.
Walker averaged 14.8 points and shot 41.5 percent from three in 34 games last season, his second at Michigan State after transferring from Northeastern.
His return is further fuel for a team that will bring back most of its key players along with one of the top recruiting classes in the country, headlined by five-star center Xavier Booker and five-star guard Jeremy Fears.
Michigan State went 21-13 last season before bowing out to Kansas State in the Sweet 16. It will enter next season with legitimate title hopes.
