BEREA, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) – Since being selected first overall in 2017, Myles Garrett has been terrorizing quarterbacks.
For Halloween this year, Garrett decided to have some fun and memorialize them in his front yard.
At the suggestion of his dad, Garrett had a quarterback graveyard constructed and installed on lawn in advance of one of his favorite holidays of the year.
"I'm kind of a troll, a little bit and people in my house like to have fun," Garrett said Friday. "My family, my friends thought it would be something cool to do for Halloween because I've always [loved] Halloween."
Head coach Kevin Stefanski was impressed with it.
"More creative than my house," Stefanski, who added he doesn't have decorations up at hi home, said.
"Northeast Ohio has impressed me with their decorations."
Garrett's position coach Chris Kiffin and his kids were amused when they saw the photos online.
"I was looking closely to see how many of those guys he's actually sacked already and how many are still on the schedule," Kiffin said. "So I think he had it pretty well thought out. It's perfect."
Since TMZ published photos of the display, which features two large skeletons and headstones for each quarterback on the Browns' schedule this year, Thursday, Garrett has noticed the extra attention – and traffic – on his street.
"I didn't think people would invade my privacy like that, but they're there," Garrett said. "It's strange to have people come by my house. Hopefully they can leave me be 'cause that is my place of refuge and residence. I don't like people just driving by for whatever reason.
"It's nice, I like it, my neighbors appreciate it, think it's funny, my family and friends. But like people just driving up, that's weird for everyone in my household."
Garrett made it known that the extra attention is cramping his quiet lifestyle, and while he's not gone full 'get off my lawn' yet, he's been tempted.
"I had somebody blocking my driveway yesterday" Garrett said. "I like being out here, I like seeing my teammates, like the camaraderie. I get home, I don't like to see anybody, except for the people in my home. Being here and feeling like I'm just a part of the team, I'm not part of the spotlight or anything like that, that's amazing to me because that's never been who I am or what I've been. I don't like to put any kind of emphasis on myself or what I'm doing. When I get home, that's even more so. I just want to sit home, eat some popcorn, watch a movie with my family and enjoy my dogs.
"Like grown men and women, just trying to drive up and say or do whatever or just trying to see me, please don't."
The cemetery is downright symbolic, a tribute to the quarterback's he's buried or plans to.
Garrett has registered a sack in four of the Browns five games this season.
He currently leads the NFL with 7.0 sacks and he's on pace to break Michael Strahan's single season sack record, a mark the two-time Pro Bowler says he's yet to think about.
"I think about we had a chance to win multiple times last week and we didn't get it done," Garrett said. "Now it's just a matter of making those plays that can get us off the field, get us the ball and change the game in our favor. That's what I'm thinking about. Whether I break the record or not, that's to be seen."
