There's new information about assault allegations involving former Pitt and NFL star Aaron Donald.

Pittsburgh Police officers went to Mercy Hospital Sunday afternoon where DeVincent Spriggs wanted to report an assault.

Spriggs said it happened in a bar somewhere on the South Side, and didn't know the exact location or time it happened.

He told police he bumped into another man at the bar and that man and another man punched and kicked him.

Spriggs admits to throwing a bottle of alcohol.

Donald as retained the services of Pittsburgh defense attorney Casey White.

93.7 The Fan Morning host Colin Dunlap says he talked to White and that he is aware of the allegations against Donald and will be responding “in the near future.”

On Wednesday, detectives took a report from Spriggs and his attorney who told reporters his client was assaulted by Aaron Donald at an after-hours club called the Boom Boom Room on East Carson Street.

Police say the District Attorney’s office will determine if charges are warranted.

Detectives are reviewing security video and say they'll try to interview Donald this week.

Donald is coveted as on of the greatest NFL defensive players in the history of the league.

He currently plays for the Los Angeles Rams and has won the Defensive Player of the Year award three times.
