We could be in for a long summer of Julio Jones trade rumors.
The veteran wide receiver's name continues to surface as a possible trade candidate for the Atlanta Falcons, who will likely need to shed some cap space this summer.
The latest speculation comes from NBC Sports' Peter King, who recently pegged the odds at "60-40 Julio Jones is traded by Labor Day."
Any trade involving Jones likely would not come until after June 1, which would allow the Falcons to save $15.3 million in cap space.
Prior to the NFL Draft, when it was reported that the Falcons were listening to trade calls on Jones, King reported that the framework for a Jones trade could get done prior to June 2, listing the Raiders, Patriots, Titans and Ravens as potential landing spots.
The Falcons' first-round selection of tight end Kyle Pitts could serve as the big-bodied receiver to replace Jones in Atlanta's receiving corps. Calvin Ridley is coming off a career-best season in which he had 1,374 receiving yards and nine touchdowns while Russell Gage had 72 catches for 786 yards.
Jones, 32, played in just nine games last year but could still be an effective player when healthy — finishing with 771 receiving yards and 51 catches on 68 targets.
