NBA Playoffs: Phantom Foul Controversy Puts Heat Up 2-0 On Bucks

You know the NBA Playoffs are in full swing when everyone is up in arms over the officiating.

The Miami Heat took a 2-0 series lead over the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday when Jimmy Butler was awarded two free throws with no time remaining and the game tied 114-114 after a questionable foul call.

Butler took a step-back jumper along the baseline corner and fell to the ground as he landed and Giannis Antetokounmpo touched his back.

A foul was shockingly called, and Butler sank both shots to give the Heat the victory.

Many on social media were astounded by the foul call due to such limited contact and the game situation, including other players around the league such as Joel Embiid and Kevin Love.

Afterward, Bucks head coach Mike Budholzer expressed disappointment, but pulled up short of criticizing the officials.

"I'd say we're disappointed with the judgement, the decision, the timing," he said. "It's a tough job. I have a lot of respect for the officials. We have our way of seeing things. We're going to disagree."

Butler finished the game with 13 points, six assists and three rebounds as the Heat are now two games away from eliminating the top-seeded Bucks.
