Report: Bill Belichick expected to be part of MNF’s ‘ManningCast’

6 rings Patspourri: Jonathan Kraft reportedly 'heavily involved' in decision making, New England receiving calls on pick No. 3, & more

Former New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick will be dipping his toes in the football analysis water this week for the first time in his post-Patriots coaching career when he appears as a guest on “The Pat McAfee Show” during the NFL Draft. Later this fall he may be flat-out jumping in the pool as far as being a football TV talking head. And alongside one of TVs biggest and most successful talking heads, and a former on-field nemesis, no less.

According to The Athletic, Bill Belichick will be a regular contributor to Monday Night Football’s “ManningCast” with Peyton and Eli. Peyton has reportedly been pursuing the former Patriots coach to collaborate with Peyton’s Omaha Productions for some time since hBelichick parted ways with the team he coached for 24 years. Andrew Marchand of The Athletic points out that the six time Super Bowl winning head coach isn’t expected to be on every episode of the Monday Night Football watchalong on ESPN 2, but will definitely be a regular presence, lending his vast amount of knowledge, insight and perspective…not to mention signature sneaky wit.

Though some may see the marriage of Belichick and the Mannings as an odd fit, given their on-field rivalry for years (no need to go down wins, losses and frustrating Super Bowl outcomes right now), the respect between Bill Belichick and the Manning brothers runs deep, and this could make for some very compelling content. Will Patriots fans find themselves watching the QBs they grew to despise or at least root so vehemently against more now that their favorite coach will be alongside them for many weeks? The thinking here is that it is what it is, and it’s their coach on TV, and they’ll do their job and tune in, like many millions of other football fans.

Belichick is also writing a book reportedly about leadership this year, adding to a busy dance card for the man who is out of the coaching world, perhaps temporarily, for the first time in almost a half century.
