Report: Bills to host 49ers on 'Sunday Night Football' in Week 13

The defending NFC champions will make their return to Buffalo for the first time in eight years

Orchard Park, N.Y. (WGR 550) - The Buffalo Bills are set to host the two teams that participated in Super Bowl LVIII during the 2024 season at Highmark Stadium. It will be the fifth-straight season in which the Bills will play both teams to take part in the Super Bowl the year prior.

According to a report from Tyler Dunne of GoLongTD.com, the Bills are set to host the defending NFC champion San Francisco 49ers in Week 13 on "Sunday Night Football", which is slated to be Sunday, Dec. 1.

This matchup will be the first time the Bills are welcoming the 49ers to Western New York since the 2016 season. That was when Buffalo came out on the victorious end in a route, 45-16, against quarterback Colin Kaepernick and a San Francisco team that ended the season going 2-14.

Buffalo was also victorious in its most recent matchup with the 49ers in a 34-24 win that was played in Glendale, Arizona at State Farm Stadium, home of the Arizona Cardinals. That contest took place during the COVID-riddled 2020 season, as the 49ers were not allowed to play the game at Levi's Stadium due to COVID-19 restrictions in Santa Clara County, at the time.

As for the Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs, they're reportedly slated to return to Orchard Park in Week 11 of the season in a rematch of the 2023 AFC Divisional Round.

The 2024 NFL schedule will officially be released on Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET.
