Desmond Ridder will start Week 15 at Saints: report

On Thursday Andy & Randy reacted to the report from Ian Rapoport, of the NFL Network, that Desmond Ridder will start at quarterback for the Atlanta Falcons in Week 15 when they visit their NFC South rival the New Orleans Saints.

“That is being reported by a variety of different outlets this morning that the Falcons are set to officially make that change, to make Desmond Ridder their starting quarterback when they take on the New Orleans Saints coming up next weekend,” Andy said.

“They weren’t going to do this until the playoff hunt was pretty close to over…it feels like that is pretty close to over…They (Falcons) weren’t going to do this (make Ridder the starting QB) if they didn’t feel like he was ready to do it,” Andy added.

“What do you need to see in these four games, if you’re the Falcons, to say you don’t need another quarterback because they are going to bring in another quarterback next year. I don’t know if it’s via draft or veteran, but it’s all about if he is coming in to compete with Desmond Ridder? Or is he coming in to be the quarterback next year?” Randy replied.

The Falcons and Saints are both on their bye in Week 14.

You can hear Andy & Randy Monday-Friday from 11a-2p on 92.9 The Game.
