Looks like the Giants have their bid addition on offense – but it’s not necessarily a wide receiver.

Per multiple reports, Big Blue is finalizing a trade with Las Vegas that will bring tight end Darren Waller to New York in exchange for a third-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. That selection is reportedly No. 100 overall, the compensatory third-round pick that was one of two picks the Giants received from Kansas City in the Kadarius Toney trade.

Waller, 30, has been one of the top tight ends in the NFL over the last few years, although injuries have limited him to 20 out of 34 games in 2021-22. He played in nine games last season around hamstring issues, recording 28 catches for 388 yards and three touchdowns. However, he is just two seasons removed from back-to-back years with at least 90 receptions and 1100 yards.

The veteran has four years and roughly $46.6 million left on his current contract, which would run through his age 34 season, but there is an out after next year that would leave the Giants with no dead cap hit.

This is a developing story.
