(SportsRadio 610) - The Rockets have agreed to a four-year, $82.5 million extension with guard Kevin Porter Jr., who was entering the final year of his current contract.

The news was first reported by ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, then followed up by The Athletic's Shams Charania and Kelly Iko, who reported only the first year of the deal is fully guaranteed.

Porter is entering his fourth NBA season and his third with the Rockets after being drafted in the first round by the Cleveland Cavaliers. He was traded to Houston two season ago after an unceremonious ending to his time in Cleveland.

The extension eliminates this being a contract year for Porter, who is entering his second season as the Rockets' full-time point guard.

Last year, Porter averaged 15.6 points and 6.2 assists per game with an effective field goal percentage of 51.1.

The Rockets being the regular season Wednesday at Atlanta.
