Ryan Mutombo follows Hall of Fame father's footsteps, commits to Georgetown

Yes, yes, yes!

Ryan Mutombo, the son of NBA Hall of Fame legend Dikembe Mutombo, announced on Sunday he is committing to play basketball at Georgetown -- the same school his father played collegiate ball.

Ryan, who is listed as seven feet tall and 210 pounds on Rivals, is ranked as the 94th-best recruit in ESPN's top 100 for the class of 2021, and is the No. 15 center in the country. He averaged about 24 points, 12 rebounds and four blocks last year at Lovett School (Georgia).

The younger Mutombo chose the Hoyas over Tennessee, Stanford and Georgia – although Georgetown was always deemed the favorite because of his father's roots.

Dikembe played at Georgetown from 1988-91 where he was a two-time Big East Defensive Player of the Year before he was selected with the fourth overall pick in the 1991 draft by the Denver Nuggets.

Ryan will be coached by another former Georgetown legend in Patrick Ewing and joins Patrick Ewing Jr. and Trey Mourning as sons of Georgetown stars who followed their father's footsteps.
