(670 The Score) The Bears have added former All-Pro safety Kevin Byard on a two-year deal, a source said Sunday.
Byard, 30, was recently released by the Eagles and free to sign with a club before free agency. He visited with the Bears on Friday at Halas Hall and reached an agreement Sunday afternoon.
Byard is an eight-year NFL veteran who earned Pro Bowl and All-Pro honors in 2017 and 2021. He played for the Titans for his first seven-and-a-half seasons before being traded to the Eagles in the middle of this past season. Byard had 122 tackles and one interception in 16 games in 2023. He has 28 interceptions in 130 career games.
Byard will start next to Jaquan Brisker at safety in a void that was created when the Bears released veteran safety Eddie Jackson in February.
