After a strong performance at the combine, Michigan star pass rusher David Ojabo was hoping to bolster his stock as a potential first-round draft pick at his pro day. He suffered a brutal injury instead.
Per reports from Adam Schefter and others, Ojabo tore his Achilles while working out in front of scouts and reporters Friday at Michigan's practice facility.
Ojabo went down 'clutching his left leg,' per NFL.com's Jeffri Chadiha, who shared a photo in which it appears Jim Harbaugh is tending to Ojabo on the turf. Doctors expect him to make a 'full and complete recovery,' per Schefter.
Ojabo produced 11 sacks, 42 QB pressures and a program-record five forced fumbles for the Wolverines last season on his way to being named first-team All-Big Ten and second-team All-American.
He entered Friday's pro day almost certain to be picked in the first round of next month's draft. But facing an injury that's notoriously difficult to recover from, Ojabo will see his draft stock take a hit.
