CLEVELAND, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) – The Browns will be able to double their COVID-19 capacity at FirstEnergy Stadium this Sunday when they host the Colts.

The Ohio Department of Health has granted the team's request for a new variance that will allow them to double attendance from 6,000 to 12,000.

The team, which has yet to comment on the latest ruling, was informed of the decision Monday via email.

The Browns will be required to continue with its current protocols, including pod seating and other safety measures they enacted for the first two games.

To accommodate the additional fans and to maintain previous requirements, the team is expected to open additional seating sections and concourses.

The Browns are among the few NFL teams that have been able to play in front of any fans.

Sunday in Arlington, just over 25,000 attended the Browns 49-38 win over the Cowboys.
