(SportsRadio 610) - Texans fans can rest easier after rookie quarterback C.J. Stroud reached a contract agreement with the team less than two days from reporting to training camp.
Stroud, who the Texans selected No. 2 overall in April, agreed to a fully guaranteed four-year, $36.2 million contract, multiple outlets reported Monday.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Stroud's $23.38 million signing bonus will be paid upfront.
Stroud's deal comes just a few days after Carolina Panthers No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young agreed to a fully guaranteed $37.96 million contract with nearly $24.6 million guaranteed.
Shortly after Stroud's deal, Indianapolis Colts No. 4 overall pick Anthony Richardson agreed to a four-year, $33.99 million fully guaranteed deal, which includes a $21.72 million signing bonus paid entirely upfront.
