(670 The Score) What should’ve been a light day for White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson ended up being an afternoon to forget Thursday.

In all the wrong ways, Anderson was a central figure in the White Sox’s 7-3 loss to the Twins in 12 innings at Guaranteed Rate Field after coming off the bench late in the game. With the score tied 2-2 in the bottom of the eighth with one out, Anderson pinch-hit and left the go-ahead run at third base when he grounded out to third. A similar sequence repeated itself in the bottom of the 10th, when Anderson stranded the winning run at third base when he struck out for the first out, and the Twins then wriggled out of the jam to give themselves a chance later.

Anderson also had a rough game-deciding 12th inning, booting a chopper for an error that plated the go-ahead run and which started the Twins’ five-run rally that put the game out of reach.

In the bottom of the 12th, Anderson grounded into a double play. In all, he went 0-for-3, was responsible for four outs and twice stranded what would’ve been the difference-making runs at third base.
