Not many fans can say they got the last laugh against Tom Brady, but Giants fan certainly can — heck, they got it twice.
Two of Brady’s three Super Bowl losses came against Big Blue, including the 2007 season in which the Giants spoiled their undefeated season with an upset victory.
Despite his shortcomings against the Giants, Brady still feels the hate from the fan base, which had the Tampa Bay Bucs quarterback recently ask on The Complex Sports Podcast, why?
“I got a question for you,” he said, as transcribed by the New York Post. “How could you hate me when you’re a Giants fan? You should love me! That was the only team I never beat, was the freakin’ Giants.”
In fact, Eli Manning said last year that Brady tells him to this day that those losses still sting.
So much so, Brady even pondered a Super Bowl rematch with the Giants one last time before his career ends.
“It’s all good,” he said. “I’ve got to figure out how to beat the Giants someday. Maybe we gotta have some type of rematch now that I’m in Tampa in a championship game.”
Giants fans would certainly sign up for that, especially considering the last playoff game the team won was against Brady and the Patriots in Super Bowl XLVI in February 2012.
Although, the Giants no longer have Eli Manning leading the way, but it would certainly be a fitting way for Daniel Jones to cement himself as the team’s next franchise quarterback if he were to topple Brady in a playoff matchup.
