With the 107th pick of the 2021 NFL Draft, the New York Jets select: Michael Carter, running back, University of North Carolina. And, with the 146th pick of the 2021 NFL Draft, the New York Jets select: Michael Carter II, cornerback, Duke University.
That's right: two Michael Carters, both from the ACC, going back to back from Tobacco Road blue to Jets green. Such a coincidence that even Jets social media had to laugh:
Of course, the two Carters, former Duke-UNC rivals turned teammates, made light of the situation:
And, as you'd expect, Twitter at large had a lot of fun with two Michael Carters going to Gang Green as well, including the latter's alma mater:
