Michigan football's 2021 recruiting class took a bit of a hit Wednesday when WR Markus Allen announced his de-commitment.
Allen, a three-star recruit from Ohio, was the third-best receiver in Michigan's class, according to 247 Sports.
"After having a deep conversation and reconsidering my commitment my Family and I … felt as if it's best I re-open my recruitment as of now," Allen wrote in a statement posted on Twitter. "I would like to thank Coach Gattis and Coach Harbaugh and the Michigan football staff for giving me the opportunity ..."

Allen had offers from the likes of Michigan State, Wisconsin and Purdue at the time of his commitment to Michigan. He said he's opening his recruitment "all the way back up."
Michigan now has three WR's for 2021, headlined by four-star Xavier Worthy from California. Its class ranks No. 2 in the Big Ten and No. 11 overall.
