There will be football in the Big House this fall. There will be football in Spartan Stadium.
There will be football across the Big Ten, as the conference's presidents and chancellors have re-voted to start the season Oct. 24, according to multiple reports.
The Big Ten originally voted to postpone all fall sports until the spring due to COVID-19.
But increased availability of rapid testing and diminished fears about the long-term effects of the virus, specifically myocarditis, compelled the conference to reverse its decision.
The Pac-12, which postponed fall sports at the same time as the Big Ten, is expected to make the same move.
The plan for the Big Ten is for each team to play eight games over the course of eight weeks. The conference championship will be held Saturday, Dec. 19, one day before the College Football Playoff selection show.
