Juwan Howard is out at Michigan, with the team's best player in his wake.
Michigan's sophomore point guard and leading scorer Dug McDaniel has entered the transfer portal, according to multiple reports, just three days after Howard was dismissed as head coach.
McDaniel averaged 16.3 points and 4.7 assists per game this season, though he was suspended for six road games for academic reasons. He was one of four celebrated recruits for the Wolverines in 2022, Howard's last marquee recruiting class.
Michigan's only high school recruit in last year's class, George Washington III, has also reportedly entered the transfer portal. The freshman shooting guard averaged just 1.2 points in 22 games this season.
The Wolverines finished 8-24 in their fifth season under Howard, the most single-season losses in program history.
