Michigan football is among the finalists for one of the top recruits in the country in 2022.
Defensive lineman Walter Nolen, the nation's No. 3 recruit according to the 247 Sports Composite, is down to a final five of Michigan, Alabama, Florida, Georgia and Tennessee, according to On3Sports.
Nolen would become the third highest-ranked recruit in Michigan history, according to 247 Sports, after Rashan Gary and Jabrill Peppers. And he'd headline the program's 2022 class that also features the nation's No. 12 recruit in Grosse Point CB Will Johnson.
247 Sports compares Nolen to New York Giants Pro Bowl defensive lineman Leonard Williams. He'd be a major coup for Jim Harbaugh and the Wolverines, whose 2022 recruiting class currently ranks No. 10 in the country and No. 3 in the Big Ten.
