Michigan football just picked up a potentially key offensive weapon for 2021 -- and 2022.
The Wolverines got a commit on Monday from grad transfer receiver and Detroit-area native Daylen Baldwin, who announced his decision on Twitter with the declaration, "Hometown Hero."
Baldwin, who has two years of eligibility remaining, caught 27 passes for 540 yards and seven touchdowns in a six-game season this spring playing for Deion Sanders at FCS Jackson State.
At 6'3, 210 pounds, he'll give Michigan a big-bodied target to help offset the loss of Nico Collins, who opted out of last season before departing for the NFL.
According to reports, Baldwin was offered by Michigan after working out for their coaching staff last week, around the same time he got an offer from Ohio State.
Instead of rolling with the defending Big Ten Champs, he'll return to the area where his career got started. A native of Southfield, Baldwin began at Farmington High before graduating from Waterford in 2017.
