Michigan running backs coach Mike Hart is "trending in a positive direction" after collapsing on the sideline and getting rushed to the hospital during the Wolverines' win over Indiana on Saturday.
Hart, 36, said in a statement Monday via Twitter that he hopes to return to the team in the near future.
"Health wise, I am back in Ann Arbor and things are trending in a positive direction," said Hart. "I look forward to rejoining our team soon."
Hart's collapse came in the first half of Michigan's 31-10 win and had several players in tears, including running backs Blake Corum and Donovan Edwards. Jim Harbaugh got a positive update on Hart at halftime and shared it with his team, which rallied to outscore Indiana 21-0 in the second half.
Hart, who spent four years as running backs coach at Indiana before returning to his alma mater last season, thanked everyone "for their support, messages and prayers."
"I am truly grateful for the trainers and paramedics, the doctors and nurses at IU Hospital, Michigan's team doctors, coaching staff, players and Coach Harbaugh," he said. "I would also like to thank IU's football staff and team doctors. I will never forget everyone's kindness and generosity."
