The Washington Football Team has reached an agreement to sign 38-year-old quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Per Schefter, Fitzpatrick has agreed to a one-year, $10 million deal with Washington that could escalate to $12 million based on incentives.
Most notably, Schefter says Fitzpatrick is expected to head to training camp as the starter, with "competition from Taylor Heinicke."
In a partial starting and partial backup role to first-round pick Tua Tagovailoa for the Dolphins in 2020, Fitzpatrick led Miami to a 4-3 record with 2,091 yards on 68.5 percent passing with 13 touchdowns and eight interceptions, for a 95.6 passer rating.
