Friday Night San Diego CIF Football features a South Bay East County match up as the Mater Dei Crusaders head to Grossmont to face the Foothillers. As far as the game is concerned we should be in for a treat when the two teams take the field on Friday night. Both teams are coming off big blowout wins and both teams can score a lot of points. Quarterback Trevor Appelman of Mater Dei led the Crusaders to a 32-6 win against El Capitan in week 1. Foothillers quarterback also put on a show a week ago as Jamie Odom threw for 287 yards and 4 touchdowns against Mira Mesa in a 43-14 win for the Foothillers.
The most intriguing player to keep an eye on or...to listen for...is Freshman middle linebacker Tre Edwards for Mater Dei who is a big force in the middle and a very athletic player for only being 14 years old.
