Albert Pujols is a legendary slugger who left his mark on the game of baseball after more than 20 years in the MLB.
While most didn't expect him to win the 2022 edition of the Home Run Derby, every fan and player at Dodgers Stadium was behind the future Hall of Famer from start to finish.
Pujols somehow found a way to knock off the No. 1 seed Kyle Schwarber to advance to the semifinals against Juan Soto by the narrow margin of 20-19, much to the crowd's enjoyment with Schwarber himself bowing down to Pujols in respect.
His run eventually ended once Soto, the winner of the 2022 Home Run Derby knocked him out in the semifinals.
Although Pujols night ended early, there were many memorable moments and reactions from the night's festivities including a moment where every all-star in attendance gathered around the legendary slugger to honor him in an awesome moment.
Not to take anything away from Pujols but some on social media are accusing ESPN of miscounting one of Schwarbers homers intentionally to get Pujols into the next round.
One of the more absurd reactions of the night has to be a bettor who placed a $52K wager on Schwarber to knock Pujols out of the first round for only a profit of $15K.
With the All-Star Game taking place Tuesday, I expect even more reactions to come in during the Cardinals legends last ASG appearance.
