Braves outfielder Marcell Ozuna's tumultuous 2021 season is reportedly officially over.

MLB and the players' union agreed to extend Ozuna's administrative leave through the end of the postseason, according to Gabe Burns of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The move comes amid an ongoing domestic violence case against Ozuna, after police officers allegedly saw him abusing his wife while responding to a disturbance call at their home in Sandy Springs, Georgia, in late May.

The incident transpired while Ozuna was on the injured list after breaking two fingers in his hand while sliding into third base during a game against the Red Sox in Boston.

Officers said they saw Ozuna striking the woman with the cast he was wearing for his injured hand.

Ozuna was initially arrested on felony charges of assault and battery, but they were later reduced to misdemeanor charges.

Earlier this month, he agreed to a diversion program that could see the charges dropped if he successfully completes counseling, anger management, community service, and other measures.

The 30-year-old two-time All-Star was placed on administrative leave around the same time as the agreement. He continues to be paid while on the exempt list, though the league could still hand down a suspension and or fine, presumably after the legal case is settled.

The Braves signed Ozuna to a four-year contract last offseason.
