Super Bowl-winning cornerback Jalen Ramsey made an appearance on Ryan Clark's "The Pivot podcast" where he made a revelation that may or may not upset some Cowboys fans.

Ramsey, while speaking with Clark, along with his co-host former NFL players Fred Taylor and Channing Crowder, said that he always grew up as a Dallas Cowboys fan and could have very well been drafted by the team if they didn't take Ezekiel Elliot during the 2016 NBA Draft, adding that the franchise promised they would take him if he was still available.

"I wanted to be the first defensive player off the board," the three-time All-Pro said this week on "The Pivot Podcast." "But if it didn't happen ... I always grew up a Dallas Cowboys fan. So if I went to them fourth, that's a dream come true. When I was on my visit to Dallas they told me straight up to my face that if I was there at No. 4 they were taking me. I thought I was going four for sure."

Imagine that. Ramsey could team up with Trevon Diggs, holding up the secondary and Tony Pollard could be the lead running back. While that is something to ponder on, Ramsey does not like when people compare him to Diggs because they are two completely different players.

“I ain’t gonna lie, I hate it when people compare me and Trevon,” Ramsey also said on The Pivot. “We play completely different. I always play out of phase, he always plays in phase.”

The stud corner was still on the board when Dallas was on the clock, but they decided to take Elliot over Ramsey. This seemed to be a great choice with Elliot leading the NFL in rushing for two of his first three seasons before failing to rush for 1000 yards in 2020 and this past season splitting his carries with Pollard. The reception to this pick can be viewed with a mixed reception, some think it worked out, others think the franchise would be in a better place if they went elsewhere.

Ramsey was drafted immediately after Elliot, going to the Jacksonville Jaguars with the fifth overall pick. He has made five straight Pro Bowls and was a major key in the Rams' Super Bowl run.

The All-Pro listed Diggs at No. 4, behind himself, Marshon Lattimore, and the Dolphins' Xavien Howard on his list of the league's best cornerbacks.
