People get unintentionally funnier as they get older. That's just how it works.
Like when my grandpa asked if he could get a Facebook from the library. Or when my mom asks me to burn a CD of her favorite songs for her, when I've downloaded Spotify on her phone and built playlists there for her several times. Or when it took my dad nearly a minute to realize that my TV was not showing a real NBA game and was instead showing a hyper-realistic video game.
Or, apparently, when Chipper Jones showed his age in front of Atlanta Braves coaches and a player during a meeting. The Baseball Hall of Famer and Braves legend shared the story unabashedly on his Twitter — for what it's worth, kudos to him for using Twitter the right way — and cracked up his fan base.
DVDs? Does Chipper still watch his highlights on DVDs or VHS tapes? Does he not know about the incredible digital collections of highlights — or just plain old plays — that are regularly available not only to employees of teams, but to the general public? Take the MLB Film Room, for instance, which contains over three million videos that you can sort by player, team, date and even more advanced filters. Want to see the last time that a right-handed Braves batter hit a foul ball off of a Phillies pitcher that threw a cutter? Done. How wild is that?
I'll even make a montage for Mr. Jones so that he can experience the wonders of our ability to find plays without first putting them on some sort of external device. The following compilation contains some historic home runs from his career — his first, his first walk-off, his two home run day off of Randy Johnson (which was the second time he had done this in his career), his two home run day in which he passed Dale Murphy on the leaderboards, and his 450th blast — all in a neat little reel.
That's right... no DVD needed for all of us to witness the greatness of the Braves legend.
