Virginia Tech cornerback Caleb Farley will no longer be attending the NFL Draft in Cleveland on Thursday.
The projected first-round pick tested positive for COVID-19 and is no longer allowed to attend the event, according to his agent, Drew Rosenhaus.
Rosenhaus said on Wednesday that Farley is “totally asymptomatic and feels completely normal.”
The test was administered by the NFL as the 22-year-old was one of 13 players who was expected to be in attendance at the draft after the league held an all-virtual event last year due to the pandemic.
Farley posted a video on social media to let everyone knows he is okay and that nothing will ruin the big moment for him.
Plenty of other players will be watching the draft remotely, including projected No. 1 overall pick Trevor Lawrence.
Farley is likely to go in the mid-to-late first round but a microdisectomy surgery on his back this offseason has led many to believe he could slide down the board on draft night.
Still, Farley should be one of the first five cornerbacks to be selected in the draft, whether it is in the first round or early second.
