Stephon Gilmore will not be at Patriots’ minicamp Monday and it doesn’t appear he will be in attendance the rest of the week, either.

Multiple reports said the cornerback would not be present Monday and then NFL Media’s Mike Garafolo added he will sit out the entirety of minicamp.

Gilmore, 30, is looking for a new contract.

Right now, he’s in the last year of his deal and is slated to have a base salary of $7 million, which obviously makes him highly underpaid given he was the NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year in 2019.

He’s also coming off a quad injury late last season, which doesn’t make it as easy for the Patriots just to give him an extension.

The Patriots also have JC Jackson in a contract year, which factors into the decision-making process on a potential new deal for Gilmore.

Things could change at any time with a new deal for Gilmore, but until then it does not seem like he will be on the field this week with the rest of his teammates.
