In the first leg of the Concacaf Champions Cup, SDFC fell behind early to Pumas UNAM when Robert Morales scored in the 11th minute on a beautiful bicycle kick. Pumas would hold that lead deep into the match, before SDFC mounted an epic scoring assault, scoring four goals in 18 minutes to secure a convincing 4-1 victory against the Mexican Club.

Manu Duah and David Vazquez sank headers in the 68th and 76th minutes to equalize and take the lead, which would ultimately be enough to win. Alex Mighten scored on a putback in the 81st minute, and Luca Bombino added a cherry on top with a goal five minutes later. SDFC will face Pumas next week in Mexico City in the second leg of the Concacaf Champions Cup, and can advance with a win, draw or on goal differential with a loss.
