The Padres beat the Marlins 9-4 on Tuesday thanks to a 5-run 9th inning to break a tie game wide open. Ryan Weathers struggled through 4 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits and 3 walks, as the Padres trialed 3-1 through 4 innings. Juan Soto's RBI-single in the 5th inning drew the Padres to within a run. Trailing 4-2 in the 7th, Fernando Tatis Jr. and Juan Soto each notched run-scoring singles to tie the game at 4. The Padres broke out of their hitting slump with runners in scoring position in a big way though, going 6-16 on the night, including 2-5 with 5 runs driven in during their 9th inning rally, as the Padres won a much-needed game against the Marlins. Wednesday's pitching matchup will be Blake Snell against Braxton Garrett.
