The Padres defeated the Giants 6-2 on Tuesday night, which combined with the Phillies loss to the Astros and the Braves clinching the NL East, locks the Padres into the second wild card spot and a matchup with the Mets in New York. Sean Manaea had his best start since late August, firing 6 shutout innings. The Padres were able to get to the Giants' bullpen, tallying 4 runs off of reliever Jharel Cotton in the 6th inning, making it a 5-0 game. The Padres held the Giants off the scoreboard until the 8th inning, but San Francisco's 2 runs weren't enough. The Padres will wrap up the regular season on Wednesday against the Giants, before heading to the Big Apple to face the Mets in a best of 3 Wild Card series.
