The Padres jumped out to an early ead against their former top pitching prospect MacKenzie Gore on Tuesday afternoon. Xander Bogaerts launched his 7th home run of the season over the right field fence in the 1st inning to give the Padres a 2-0 lead. Brandon Dixon's 4th inning solo shot was his first of the season, and it looked like the Padres would cruise to victory behind Yu Darvish. But Darvish allowed a 2-run homer to former Padre CJ Abrams ans a solo homer to Lane Thomas in the 5th to tie the game at 3 apiece. Fernando Tatis put San Diego back on top 4-3 with a sac-fly in the 6th inning, and then the Padres broke the game wide open in the 7th inning on a solo homer from Juan Soto and a 2-run homer from Jake Cronenworth, as the Padres beat the Nationals 7-4.
