The Padres have placed OF Wil Myers on the 10-day IL (retroactive to 4/27) with a right thumb contusion. The team has selected the contract of OF Trayce Thompson, and also moved RHP Austin Adams to the 60-day IL.
Myers is off to a slow start thus far, hitting just .218 with 0 home runs. Thompson meanwhile has been scorching hot in the minors, hitting 9 home runs so far this season, including 5 in his last 7 games.
