The Padres lost 9-3 to the Diamondbacks on Sunday afternoon, splitting the 4-game series at Petco. Adam Mazur made his home debut, and got into trouble right away in the top of the 1st inning. Mazur gave up 3 singles and a walk, and ended up loading the bases with 2 outs, but was able to escape only allowing a single run. Fernando Tatis Jr. tied the game in the bottom half of the frame with a solo blast, but that was as close as the game would be. Arizona added 6 earned runs off of Mazur in the 2nd inning, as the rookie lasted just 3 innings and yielded 8 runs. Jhony Brito allowed 2 more runs in the 4th, as Arizona's offense teed off on Padres pitching for 15 total hits. The Athletics will visit for a 3-game series beginning on Monday.
