Sunday night’s AFC Divisional Round game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills was an instant classic, with the Chiefs coming out on top in overtime 42-36.

Many fans on social media were quick to begin calling it the greatest game they have ever seen and even Patrick Mahomes, who has won a Super Bowl and played in plenty of classic games at Arrowhead Stadium, could not help but rank it at the top for the games he has played in.

“It’s definitely probably [No.] 1 as far as going into battle,” Mahomes said on Monday’s “The Drive” on KCSP. “The Super Bowl is my favorite memory, but as far as a battle playing against another great football team, going back-and-forth for the entire game, this is probably the best one I’ve been in.”

Thirty-one points were scored between the two teams within the final two minutes of regulation plus overtime.

The game ended when Mahomes connected with Travis Kelce in the end zone for a walk-off touchdown in overtime without the Bills getting a chance to respond.

“It’s definitely up there. I think it is [best game at Arrowhead],” Mahomes said. “It was a tremendous battle. They have a great football team. They battled to the very end. We did the same. Whenever you have great football teams, it comes down to that sometimes. We’re just glad we got the win at the end of the day.

Added Mahomes: “To have a walk-off at Arrowhead is definitely something that is going to be memorable for a lot of people for a long time.”
