Britney Spears has made it clear she has no plans to return to the music business.

The 42-year-old took to social media this week to clear up rumors she’s been working on her 10th studio album. “Just so we’re clear, most of the news is trash,” she stated in a post addressing the rumors she’s currently working on an album alongside co-writers Charli XCX and Julia Michaels.“They keep saying I’m turning to random people to do a new album … I will never return to the music industry !!!”
While she made clear she has no plans to get back out there, Spears did reveal she still enjoys writing music and has been fulfilling her love for songwriting as a ghostwriter.
“When I write, I write for fun or I write for other people !!!” She stated later in her post. “For those of you who have read my book, there’s loads that you don’t know about me … I’ve written over 20 songs for other people the past two years !!! I’m a ghostwriter and I honestly enjoy it that way !!!”
Rumors surrounding her music weren’t the only thing Spears set to straighten out with her recent post. She also took the opportunity to address gossip surrounding her recent memoir, The Woman In Me. “People are also saying MY BOOK WAS RELEASED WITHOUT MY APPROVAL ILLEGALLY and that’s far from the truth,” she concluded. “Have you read the news these days ??? I’m so LOVED and blessed !!!”
