Sheeran took the stage at Nashville’s Nissan Stadium on Saturday night in front of a crowd of 73,000 — a new attendance record at the venue, which is home to the Tennessee Titans.
The Nissan Stadium show was just the beginning of the party for Ed as he hopped over to his favorite Nashville dive bar following his performance to celebrate with some cheap beer and karaoke.
“When I lived in Nashville in 2013, I used to go to this karaoke caravan called Santa’s,” he said in his Instagram story. “It only does $1 PBR and it does karaoke, and it’s the best.”
Ed arrived at Santa’s — a dive bar housed in a double-wide trailer always decorated for Christmas — and immediately took the the karaoke stage kicking things off with the Backstreet Boys’ “Tell Me Why.”
“Let’s get f***ing lit!” he told the crowd. “Celebrating breaking the attendance record at Nissan stadium in Nashville tonight at Santas pub,” he captioned a video of his visit. “When I lived here this was the spot and it still is. Karaoke caravan and cheap beer, what’s not to love.”
Later in the night, Ed performed his smash, “Thinking Out Loud,” for the crowd, which was fitting as a newly married couple happened to be there with the groom still in his tux, and the bride in her wedding dress.
Sheeran later took to the mic with the newlyweds to sing One Direction’s “What Makes You Beautiful.”
Ed absolutely made the most of his time in Nashville, where he also performed a show on his more intimate, - Tour (Subtract Tour) which took place at the famed Ryman Auditorium.
The tour, which is separate from his + - = ÷ x Tour consists of more intimate shows that take place in theaters and auditoriums across the U.S. and feature music from his newest album, -, which was released on May 5.
Both Sheeran’s - Tour and + - = ÷ x Tour are scheduled to continue through September. Grab your tickets HERE.
