As the precession of fashionable celebs and people of prominence made their annual pilgrimage to The Met Gala, each dressed in their own interpretation of "in honor of Karl Lagerfeld," the boldest homages perhaps go to Jared Leto, who came out in a full fursuit with hyper-realistic blue eyes, and Doja Cat who showed out in an Oscar de la Renta dress and full feline face prosthetics. (Honorable mention goes to Lil Nas X).

Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty was the theme of this year's Met Gala, and while many and most wore his designs, or ones inspired by his decades of design domination, Jared and Doja went a different route. When Lagerfeld passed at the age of 85 in 2019, he left much of his estate to his closest confidant — his cat, Choupette. A social media sensation in his own right, many had actually hoped to see him make a surprise appearance on this year's white, pink and blue carpet. While sadly, Choupette kept his paws firmly planted in France supporting Karl from the comforts of home, Jared and Doja made sure we had the next best thing — both channeling Choupette (but like literally).
