One of the things on Olivia Rodrigo’s list of dreams, that she never got to check off before reaching superstar status is being a babysitter.

“That’s one of my biggest dreams that I’ve never accomplished,” she told the late night host, during her appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
Sad she never had the opportunity but still hopeful, Olivia added, “I would really love to be a babysitter. I love kids, so if you are ever in the market for a babysitter, hit me up.”
“We could make that happen, no problem," Jimmy responded, “although I’m guessing you would have to charge like $1,800 an hour or something.”
Laughing at the absurd rate suggested, Rodrigo went along with the joke and said, “No, for you, I’d give you a discount.”
Rodrigo and Kimmel also discussed the singer’s second album GUTS, with Jimmy asking Olivia about how her family has responded and reacted to her fast rising fame.
“My family’s wonderful,” she said. “My family is so proud of me, but they would have been proud of me if I did absolutely anything. My dad is like, you know, brags to his co-workers about me being on the show today. But my mom is the complete opposite. She’s very modest and very shy. If people ever ask her about what I do, she’s just very coy.”
Which as Olivia went on to share, may have stemmed from an exchange she had while in Vegas for the GRAMMYs. Her mother “was getting her hair done," Rodrigo recalled, "and the hairdresser was like, ‘Oh, how old’s your daughter?’ ‘She’s 19.’ ‘Where is she right now?’ ‘She’s working in Vegas.’ ‘What does she do?’ And my mom’s like, ‘She’s in entertainment.’
“And so the hairdresser just stops asking questions because she thinks that I’m a stripper,” Rodrigo continued, "which, God bless, I wish I had the core strength to do that, but that’s not me. So now that anytime someone asks about my career, she just kind of makes them think I’m a stripper.”
Ahead of the interview, Rodrigo actually had a chance to semi-babysit Jimmy’s kids during a pre-recorded bit in which she acted as a hitchhiker to catch a ride from Kimmel and his wife Molly McNearney while their two kids, Jane and Billy were in the car.
“I’m Olivia, do you mind if I hitch a ride to school with you guys?” When Molly asked Jane her thoughts, all she could muster up to say is, “Oh my God,” with her hands on her mouth, while Billy couldn’t even find the words and went with raising his two arms with thumbs up.
Obvious fans of the singer, Kimmel’s shocked children sat on either side of Olivia in the backseat of the car, freaking out, as they should.
